Dummy Security Cameras

Dummy security cameras are a low cost security solution. Security cameras of all types can be very expensive and hard to set up and install. If you are on a budget, but still want to add some extra security to your home, a fake security camera is a great option. By setting a fake camera up inside or outside of your home, it can help ward off burglars and keep your home a safe, secure place. Dummy security cameras can also be used with real security cameras so it looks like you have more cameras and surveillance than you really do.

There are many types of dummy security cameras such as fake dummy security cameras, dome security cameras, motorized motion detector fake security dummy cameras, imitation dummy dome cameras and eye toy cameras. Some dummy cameras come with small LED lights to make them look even more realistic.

So when is dummy camera a good idea? Dummy cameras can be a low cost effective solution in helping reduce retail theft and shoplifting with a few exceptions. Dummy cameras positioned to view customers and potential shoplifting areas do help in deterring a customer from stealing. But their effect can be time limited by the situation. If you suspect employees are committing the theft, dummy cameras are a bad idea! Sooner or later they will figure out they are fake. Day after day they will watch the camera and wonder where the recording device is. When safe, they will look in the ceiling for wires and sooner or later they will have a quick look at every office and storage area in the facility where a video recorder and monitor could be hidden. Once they are convinced the camera is a fake the theft will start again.
